Echinacea

Enhinacea

Echinacea, or purple cornflower, has long been used by Native Americans as an antiseptic, analgesic and snake bite remedy. It was accepted by American physicians in 1885 as a blood purifier and treatment for abscesses, ulcers and sepsis.

Today many people utilize this versatile herb, usually in capsule form, to ward off colds or other infections. It is very effective when taken at the first signs of the infection and continued until the infection has cleared up. Echinacea tincture may be used topically to treat cuts, blemishes, insect bites or stings.
